One Great Read...

Have you ever read a non-fiction book that just captures you? Have you ever read a book that is just sooo jaw dropping that you have to put it down because your own heart is breaking? I just did. I can't imagine a human being experience such devastating loss, endure horrific circumstances and yet have an increased faith DURING those unimaginable times, not after! I want THAT kind of faith. The kind of faith that despite any circumstance or situation I know that my God is good. To know that my God is loving. To know that my God uses everything to His honor and glory. To know that He will never leave me nor forsake me. That's the kind of faith I want- unshakable, no matter what my circumstance is. So my book pick is
"Left to tell" by Immaculee Ilibagiza. Read it. You won't regret it.

Ok. This has got to be one of the BEST ideas ev.er. Birchbox. Have you heard of it? Neither had I until it was delivered to my door! What is it you ask? It is a box full of beauty/ health samples.(And did I mention the box itself is darling and something you could definitely cover with scrapbook paper and re-gift box) ok back to task... the whole "try it before you buy it" concept? Check!

It is with mixed emotions that I write this post. As many if you know my sister opened up a darling shoppe, Passiflora, 6 years ago this coming fall. Keeping Christmas

I am sitting here and thinking I have million things to do. One of them is to take down our Christmas decorations.
In past years I've torn everything down the day after and tossed the tree out the front door. But the past couple of years I have had a heavy heart about doing just that. The boys are getting older and it seems like time is just flying by. I want it all to last... longer and for them to stay...younger. But that doesn't go according to God's perfect plan.
God, who has infinite love for us, sent baby Jesus into this broken world for you. For me. For my boys. He grew up knowing what was in store for Him. God knew what was in store for Him. He knows what's in store for my boys. I know that anything that God has in store can only be good and for His glory. So right now I rest in that blessed assurance and will keep Christmas tucked in my heart, my decorations up a little later and look forward to see the plans that God has for the boys.

Some friends of ours built an amazing cabin up north and invited us up for the weekend. The boys are having a great time skiing. Yesterday the conditions were very mild and today we have a blizzard warning...that's Michigan for you!
